Why arent criminals using these? I mean, yes, they have the AFID tags (explained in the article) but shouldnt it be possible to have these made (perhaps out of the country or self moded) without any tracking device? And if these are legal to be carried around conceled, why isnt this a huge problem with gangs and muggings and things?

To a gangster, carrying a taser would be like carrying a Swiss army knife....just not as "cool" as a .45 or a 9 mm. /images/graemlins/smirk.gif

But for muggings, man...what could be a better device? I mean, you get to totally incapacitate the victim (at least for a short time) while robbing them, yet he/she still lives relatively unharmed physically. No messy murder rap, etc.

I would guess they are cost prohibitive and less readily available.
