Air conditioning solved everything in the fall but that is turned off for the rest of the semester.

I'm in a weird situation now. It's 46 degrees outside, and in the hall, yet it is 82 (EIGHTY TWO) degrees in my dorm, and I'm choking. The windows are open, nothing's working. I actually woke up to post this, lol. Any tips/ideas?

Fan in the window blowing cool air in might be a good solution.

After you solve this one, let us know if you need instructions for wiping your ass in the middle of the night.

Probably has a couple of computers in a small dorm room and leaves them on all the time.

Yes. Friction creates heat. I'm sure this is the answer.

The real answer is:

Open up 2 windows, put a box fan in one, blowing air OUT, and leave the other one as open as you want, if its too cold/hot adjust the non fan window.

God i've been in a dorm too long....

Fan in window + pan of cold water in front of it=crude AC. And if you are using a fan now, I hope that you're getting fresh air into teh room, otherwise you're heating it up....

Or buy a damn AC unit for $150.

5-10 mins of this and you're good.

We used a similar setup when we smoked in our dorm rooms. Box fan for exhaust, turned on full, blows out all the smoke. Brillant!

Thanks, used this. Seemed to work. That or it cooled off a bit.

Steal a gallon or two of liquid nitrogen from the chem department. That should coold your room down a bit.
