Does anyone out there enjoy doing this as much as I do?

If you have some sort of allergy problem and do it all the time, that sucks, I'm talking about the every so often people.

Yes, a very satisfying feeling to sneeze every so often.

a nice sneeze every now and then is quite refreshing.

i do not like it, however, when people tell me "god bless you"

Yes. I hate when my nose really itches but I can't sneeze. If I'm at home, I usually just stick my finger in there to provoke the sneeze reflex. I usually only do that if my wife's there because it makes her crazy. Otherwise I stare at a light. Yea, I probably sneeze 10 times a day or so.

i love sneezing. i do it a ton in the summer, basically every time i leave something air conditioned/light-controlled (cars, buildings, etc) and into the sunlight

Not me. I have pretty bad allergies and if I sneeze it's likely there are many more to come and that I'll be gasping for air in between them.

I don't enjoy it but I just sneezed three times, and felt I had to share this with the forum.

I sneeze in sunlight.

Sometimes, on a rough day, the single most pleasurable moment is steeping outside, winding up, and releasing an-ever-so tingly sneeze. Really.

A really good sneeze can be as satisfying as taking a dump. They basically serve similar functions by releasing pent up refuse.

I just heard about this recently, some people sneeze as a reaction to light.

Does anyone get a certain smell right after they sneeze? Right after I sneeze I get this smell in my nose. Always the same. Nobody else I know seems to get it. It smells similar to some air conditioners.

my dad used to have bad smells when he sneezed, and sometimes when he picked something up off the floor. he didn't think much of it, but it got worse and worse. it turned out he had some kind of persistent sinus infection. he had minor surgery for it a year or so ago and he said it changed his life, way less colds/irritation in general and stuff he was just overlooking. maybe you should get it checked out.

Sneezing is very similar to having an orgasm. No joke. So, yes, I enjoy sneezing.

Yah i do this. Every time i walk out into direct sunlight. I was in vegas in august once and it was hell (not because of the sunlight), but we were walking the strip and going into different stores/casinos etc. Every time we left one i would sneeze. It isn't nearly as bad in the northwest, since it is not sunny as often, and there is a lot more shade.

Anyway, i believe it is hereditary.

Is the acronym for that thing ADCHOS on purpose? You would think they would have added an extra O-word to make it ADCHOOS.. now that'd really be funny

edit: hmm.. I guess the helioopthalmic thing can be abbreviated with two letters to make ADCHOOS after all. that's clever.

Hmmm. Thanks. I do get a lot of colds. I also broke my nose about 7 years ago and currently have a deviated septum. I don't really remember if I had these smells before that though. Wonder if it's connected?

I read something about that and they said it was called "Achoo" syndrome.

I don't see why. Will others please elaborate?

Your diaphragm contracts. You get a small release of dopamine, endorphins, enkephalins, adrenaline and noradrenaline. Thus, similar to an orgasm. (Or laughing a whole bunch). The difference is degree and proportion--for instance, in my wholly speculative view, sneezing ups the endorphin/enkephalin quotient to a greater degree than an orgasm, whereas the latter is more dopamine driven. I'm sure a neuro-science dork can correct this. I'm just attuned to my enkephalin- mu receptors.
