flop Qs 9c 6d
I check BB bets, 1 call, I C/R (yay/nay?), both call
turn 9d
I bet, BB raises, I call HU
river 8s
i check fold

This is a weak tight line, and it's especially ineffective against the BB you describe.
While I think the flop check/call is pretty terrible, the meat of this hand is the turn. BB may make this raise with a large range of hands, Qx and worse. You have top pair and a strong draw that wants to see a showdown. 3-betting the turn is excellent if BB will never cap, but I still think it's a strong play anyway, against an aggressive player. You can fold the river UI to a turn cap, and check behind a called 3-bet if you choose, and you will frequently improve.
If you're sure BB has 2 pair or better, your line is prescient. But I'm not convinced, and a 3-bet does wonders for your table image.

especially when its out of position against someone who is beatng you over the head with the "I have a better hand than you" stick

I would be more inclined to bet the flop and hope for a field thinning raise, and get to showdown. Your line works, though.
