Tourney 6636113 - $10 turbo satellite

I'm 2nd in chips (cnew27)

54 left, 23 qualify for the $215 tournament

Should I be playing big stack poker or folding into the tournament?

I can't decide.

I'm playing Dan Harrington tight right now

4th in chips, 43 left

Not only should you be playing tight, but you should be playing as slow as possible so that the blinds get up there very quick and the smaller stacks at your table are forced to gamble as to not blind out.

I won a seat to the $215 last week. Top 29 won seats of 606. When it was down to about 45 players, I was 28th in chips. I went from 28th to 10th (T40000 to T130000) just by raising a lot of pots. Everyone tightened up so much that I starterd raising with nearly any two and taking down the blinds/antes.

So as the bubble approaches pick on the mid stacks and they will lay down with a quickness.

This is what I do in the $3 rebuys, but this is a turbo satellite and I've only played maybe 2 or 3 of these ever. This is the farthest I've gotten.

Even though I'm 6th in chips as I type this, a standard raise still commits 45% of my stack. Hence the problem.

I'm folding and stalling in.

Just read your reply. Question, should the table you are at play a role here? If I can take those small to mid stacks blinds, doesn't that help to speed up the game...forcing them to gamble sooner.

Granted, I would not go to war here, but if players want to hand over their chips, why deny them?

In a regular structure, yea.

But since this is turbo I can accomplish the same thing by stalling and folding.

The bubble guys right now have 2x the BB. I'm folding in.

I'm watching you are not exactly stalling your way in. Run the clock down and don't worry about the blindsw you are about to pay you are in.

The reason I folded quickly that time was the blinds were about to escalate. I wanted a 6k BB, not a 10k BB.

You know, just in case.

Okay, now I'm definitely in.

Woo!

This will be my third $215.

1st time - busted out in 10 minutes
2nd time - busted by Sdouble just after 1st break
3rd time - I will clearly win the whole damn thing /images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Why not take the $215 tourney dollars and play in like 10 more turbo rebuys and turn it into $500?

I usually win the first one I try, it's the subsequent ones for $T or $W I have problems with it seems. But they really are easy money.
