Is 2-4 soft. How much better are the players? I know this is a rare instance, but I want to try out some 2-4 in the next month or two. I am doing pretty well at 1-2.
Maybe I should come join you at this table, or better yet, I come and you leave, lol.

I had an unusual experience today - a "greatest fish ever" of a different sort. This guy was already on my buddy list (I put him on my list after 50 or so hands the other day) so when I see him playing today I grab a seat a few down from his left.

I have never seen such a pronounced and prolonged rush for a dork. Over approx 3.5 hours this guy is playing everything and hitting, hitting, hitting. Much of the rest of the table were TAGs or close to it, and I watched him bust them out again and again -- calling-cold 85o pre-flop and flopping a straight, etc.

After 277 hands on him, check these stats in my DB:

VPIP: 72.56
VPIPSB: 77.42
Saw Flop: 74.34
W$WSF: 45.63%

In PT he's running at 21.91/100 BBs. That W$WSF combined with the VPIP means he's winning money on every third hand dealt at the table! It was pretty cool - just wish it had been me.

It was quite fun to see a TAG try and isolate him, see another TAG 3-bet to "re-isolate" and then see the guy turn over a full house with 93o and take both of them.

I saw the same thing last night on PARTY, this guy calls down to the river with 73sooted no draw and no pair on the board. a 3 hits on the river and he calls, the pot was 7 BB. Afterwards he says nice hand to a guy with pocket aces, and says "I had to call I was pot commited" /images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Not even micro can save it. Terran finds opponent on small map (i.e. Blood Bath). Builds SCVs until 10/10, selects all SCVs and does the following:

1) Send them all to the single mineral patch so that they're overlapping.
2) Right click on an enemy mineral patch so they're still overlapping as they move there.
3) Hit the attack command on any area when they've reached the enemy workers.

Only counter is for the opponent to group their enemy workers together, but it only works if opponent is Terran and sees this.

[/ QUOTE ]

This is a major problem with attempts to isolate (not the full house) that I have run into when a huge fish shows up. If there's more than one other observant TAG at the table, you can wind up butting heads with another one and find yourself overplaying hands trying to isolate.

I have to admit that I haven't been able to exploit a super fish yet. In fact, even though I've watched guys like that dump 100s of dollars on various tables I've been on, I'd have to say that I've been a net loser on those tables due to not getting decent cards, getting outdrawn by the fish, and not finding a way to isolate without getting into a raising battle with another TAG. Maybe I'm just extremely unlucky so far, but I think further discussion on this issue would be helpful.

bigmac366

i try to isolate with any ace, any pair, and any two cards higher than nine. if another tag jumps in the fun i tread very carefully postflop. my buddy list is full of these super fish. they are the easiest way to make money because they dont just call down with bottom pair, they RAISE IT UP.
