Edit: There are circumstances where I think this would be a bad idea, but since the OP didn't mention them, I'm going with a generic read.

Not bad, unless you had been doing this to him repeatedly after he limped into your BB. The only thing I can see where this could go awry is that it's against the short stack, and he'll have to double up or increase his stack in order to make the money and thus be more willing to call.
