late in a $10 MTT on Stars with about 25 left. BB 2000.
my stack size 38000 villain in hand has 29000 in SB.

i open in MP for 6000.
villain calls from SB for 5000.

pot~15000 flop K4K rainbow.

villain makes weak lead out for 6000.

My read on villain is somewhat loose aggressive but not reckless. He recently lost a big stack and then rebuilt to where he is now.

I have 29000 and there is now 21000 in the pot.

What's my line here?

Id reraise from 12000 to 15000. If he comes over the top its likely hes got u beaten. Otherwise he would think that hes beaten and fold. if he calls, well ure prolly betaen but you get one more chance to improve..

Cheers

villain has 17k behind, and there is ~22k in the middle (i added 1k for antes).

i'd push. i'd be pretty surprised if villain has a K - if so, clever play by him and wins some chips for it. i think the odds are very high you'll take it down, but villain may talk himself into a call with AJ or 55. any bigger pair than 77 is reraising preflop, imo.

my first instinct was to call, but if villain fires a second barrel there's a good chance we'll do the wrong thing. pushing also doesn't give the free card to beat you.
