Need song suggesting for my playlist while I'm at the gym. Give me as many as you like, something upbeat of course. I will download and make a playlist out of them.

Good thread, I could use some suggestions also.

How about Master of Puppets by Metallica.

how bout some avril lavigne. get some "skater boi" and "im with you" flowing, and you will have a good work out. also another one to look at is "since you've been gone" by kelly clarkson.

When I go to the gym I make sure my ipod shuffle is stuffed with hardcore, metal, screamo, etc. Nothing like angst/hatred/screaming/double bass to get you pumped.

Atreyu - Bleeding Mascara
Atreyu - Lip Gloss and Black
Killswitch Engage - Rose of Sharyn
Unearth - The Great Disaster
From First to Last - My Heart Your Hands

you'll love it.

You need some angry music with a strong beat...something to get you pumped up and pissed off. Rage Against The Machine is a good bet.

I listen to Social Distortion at the gym. Not exactly upbeat, but at the end of a long session "Ball and Chain" sounds about right. I don't go to the gym often.

This is going to get a big laugh, but the best work out songs are from old 60's and 70's t.v. shows. Those songs were really dynamic. And some of the other best work out songs are actually really sucky and/or almost embarassing to think people would figure you're into. The songs I'm thinking of are at just the right pace for shadowboxing/kickboxing. High energy pace and some really key phrases that it's hard to kick fast enough to match.

Hawaii Five-O is the best shadowboxing/kickboxing song of all time. If you can keep up that pace creatively, you'll be pushing yourself to the limits.

Mission Impossible is also great. Both those songs have a high macho factor too, so they really get you worked up on that level too.

I think the theme from Peter Gunn was also great, but can't remember it at the moment LOL.

And another great work-out song is the theme from Rocky. It's so corny you might wince while it plays, but if you get over yourself it's a great work out song.

So is the Christopher Cross song that I think is called Ride Like the Wind, or anyway has that as one of the choruses in it. It hate Chris Cross, but there's a part where he's doing some kinda Doo doo doo dooo, doot doot doot doooo business that's really fast and rhythmic. Kicking on each one of those will send your heart rate to the moon. Plus afterwards you can make gay love to the album cover or whatever lol.

Nine Inch Nails has some good pacing too, but they're really depressing and stop and go with the pace a lot.

Finally, try cartoon theme songs from the 60's. They're hilarious and upbeat. Superchicken will give you a heart attack and almost undoubtedly kill you, the Jetsons is good.

Nothing gets me more fired up at the gym than Last Resort by Papa Roach. Also as another poster suggested, Till I Collapse by Eminem is another one high on my playlist.

Lethal,

Milkshake makes me want to kill myself. Its ridiculous. "My milkshake brings all the boys to the yard..." Whatever, Kelis. That and Clocks drive people to alcoholism...

However, your playlist redeems itself with two of my current workout favorites - 45 and Bottom Of A Bottle.

Other songs:

Sugarcult: Bouncing Off The Walls, She's The Blade, Pretty Girl (The Way)

3 Doors Down - pretty much anything

Simple Plan - I'd Do Anything

50 Cent - Disco Inferno

AC/DC - Thunderstruck

Crossfade - Cold

Makes Kelis sound good.

That is literally impossible.

That Simple Plan song I listed is just a kinda driving song. That's really the only reason I included it. The Sugarcult was the main addition. /images/graemlins/cool.gif

One other I forgot to add from my list is Forty Foot Echo - Save Me.

I love it. I get torn apart for Simple Plan, while Rich Girl and Sk8ter Boi go unnoticed.

FWIW, I did say it was just there because it was a driving, uptempo song. And its approximately 10^340928523 times better than Milkshake.
