hey guys my sample isnt all that big, but I'm thinking of moving up to the 30's? here is what I'm getting so far.. Do you think I'm hitting a high enough ROI to move up a level... how much better it the play at the 20's compared to the 20's?
I realize that my ROI could easily be +/- 5-10% because of the small size just wondering what everyone thinks about the quality of play between the two levels.
ROI 13.8%

ITM 37.9%

Total Tourneys 448

1st 12.3% 55
2nd 12.5% 56
3rd 13.2% 59
4th 10.3% 46
5th 20.3% 91
6th 12.3% 55
7th 8.9% 40
8th 6.3% 28
9th 2.2% 10
10th 1.8% 8

If the $$ is important to you and you can't reload just stay on the $20's until you have $1500. Your ROI and ITM are ok-ish for a move up, but your ROI/ITM/BR combination is not IMO.

you have the bank for it. but i think you probably drop 5-10% ROI from going up from 22 to 33. i dont know if you can withstand that quite yet...

you want more 1sts (and ironically, more 10ths), too.

Yeah I've been having a pretty bad run lately ITM when ever I get there I make a raise all in with a hand like A-9 when I only have about 4-6 BB left on the button and I've been loosing those steady... I'm kinda feeling like I dont know how to play shorthanded lately!

I'm facing a very similar situation. I have a little over 300 logged at the 20s and a ROI of 19 to 20 ish. I have the "bankroll" for the 30s but I really don't feel comfortable moving up until I have a nice safety net and strong confidence in my 20s game. You may have all those things, so move up - I however, suffered a 30 buyin drop 2 weeks ago and just now have recovered my ROI and roll. I've been told on this forum a few times that the only difference between the 30s and teh 20s is the prizes, but for safety's sake I'm going to wait till I have at least 1300-1500 and a true confidence in my ability to succeed at my current level. Good luck in whatever you decide, I'll see you in a couple weeks /images/graemlins/smile.gif

yeah my ROI for the first 240 games was about 20-23% then for the last 240 its been about 3.6% Start to get down on my self when I lose this much! I know these kind of streaks are normall, I go in with the best hand time after time and loose either that or everytime I go for a steal the guy wakes up with a real hand nothing I can do about it I guess.... Maybe I could hack Party poker or something

Since your bankroll sounds borderline, why not play whichever level you feel like playing based on the time of day and number of people logged on? Just set a lower limit ($900 maybe) where you'll play 22's exclusively and an upper limit (~$1500) where you'll play 33's exclusively.

I find it extraordinarily difficult to wind up in 10th place. It seems that someone goes out on the first hand in about 2/3 of the SNGs I play.

yeah yoru right there It is extremely diffcult for me to go out in 10th when I'm not playing a hand :P

I multitable 22s with a 30% ROI but I don't feel comfortable moving up to 33s yet... or maybe I'm just too afraid of changing a good thing.

I've never heard anyone suggest more 10ths. More 4th-6th's yes, but not more 10ths.

I was in the same situation two weeks ago and just recently moved up to quad tabeling 30's from 20's and have noticed a subtle but definite diference. The early levels feel almost exactly the same, but I've definitly been getting my blinds raised a lot more since I moved up. The level of play shorthanded definitly seems to be better. It could just be the run of tables I've gotten though since I haven't been playing them very long.

Your ROI is clearly not optimal. However, in my knowledge, the 30s don't play harder than the 20s in any really quantifiable way. It's very likely that you're missing things. However, since I'd bet money you're a winner at the 30s, you might as well be winning more money while you learn to patch those holes.
