Example: you have AQ in EP, bet, and have 4 callers. board comes Q 7 5. You bet, have a caller, and get raised you 3 bet, same raiser caps, you call. i then check/called putting him on a set.
he showed 3 7s
So, i called down but how large does the pot be that i really need to call even though i strongly believe im beat.

im mostly an NL player but im dabbing in limit hoping to later switch to it when i can BR higher limits. (i wont jump into 5/10 or anything, just want to later)

thanks,

galahad

depends on how strongly you feel about it.

seriously, think about what your opponent could play that way, think about how many of those hands you beat and how many you lose to... add in some X factor on the chance that your opponent is a moron capping a flop with 37, and you can come up with a pretty logical answer with some practice.

[(% Chance You Have Best Hand) + (Moron Factor %)] > [Cost of Bet / Total Pot]

I think OP means Villain had a set of 7s, not 3-7 suited.

I think you are right. /images/graemlins/shocked.gif

nevertheless, the point is valid.

in headsup situations you can't make such folds unless you have an excellent read on the other player.
