No specific reads. The whole table is pretty average. Nobody standing out in any way.

Comments on all streets please. Standard?

I play it the same but I bet the river for value.

you forgot to bet the river.

I thought this and then wondered what hands were calling that we beat. Did I experience a twilight zone moment of weak-tightness?

Bet the river. Who knows what he'll call you down with unless you do.

Can you please eloborate on why this is a river value-bet?

What worse hand would call me and what better hands would fold?

value bet has nothing to do with better hands folding. as for worse hands calling, AQ, AK, 88, 77

Yah. I suck at poker.

My thougts at the time the hand was played were:

- I can never get AA, KK, QQ, TT, AJ to fold.

- I have shown maximum aggression sofar ( reraised preflop,
raised his flop-bet and lead the turn ). A call from
for example AK, AQ, 88, KQ is very unlikely.

Am I really way off here?

So? Plus, you are probably not up against these hands.

I think the key here is: How often do you have the worst hand?

And the answer is: not often at all.

If your opponent turned over a worse hand, you would be obligated to bet for value. I don't see how this situation is too much different.

Ok guys. It seems to be the view of everyone that I should have betted the river.

Maybe the "problem"? with my line of thinking is that I too often try to put myself in my opponents shoes?

In his shoes I would have folded 88 on the turn. I would have called a river bet with all overpairs, TT, AJ and possibly AK. I would have folded to a river bet with AQ, KQ and worse holdings.

( But I would also have played AA, KK, QQ totally differently postflop /images/graemlins/wink.gif)

Maybe not so interesting but Villain showed TT and MHING
