it really looks like he has 44/22, but a 5 is possible. I dont see him making this play with just a 9. I think you have the caller beaten, but I'm not sure how often you have the raiser beaten. obviously the answer is rarely, but 1/24?

yeah this is not a full BB mistake, I'm just curious if we can win enough for any chance of even breaking even.

and I dont think its that bad of thinking, I would probably curse and make the call in the heat of the moment
