I need to mention that one of these players was ultra loose, and was calling with anything. Hence the KJ timidness. I figured it was better to let it go, and hope he tangles with one of the other short stacks.

I figured 33 was a coinflip, no matter what, and I didn't want to risk my stack when I didn't need to.

Blah.

33 auto muck
kj probably should muck but if they are extremely tight i might push
a9 I don't like it with that board it is likely he has at least a pair. I would be very afraid of the flop check and your 300 and 500 bets will certainly be called by most players with a decent pair. I think if you are going to bluff 800 at the pot why not put it in all at once.

Thanks for the input. In hindsight, I think it's a little reckless. The villain, in this case, was the super-loose player I had mentioned before.

1. He would call-call-call all the way to the end, and drop on the river if he didn't have a piece.

2. I don't think he re-raised the entire game!

3. It was actually helpful to keep him around, because he was busting the short stacks with all sorts of promiscuous calls. I was happy to see all the chips heading to him, because I knew I could take them from him later.

4. I busted him in 4th.

I played with a guy just like that last night, except he would occasionally reraise preflop. He called everything to the river and dropped if he didn't catch something... amazingly he caught enough to build a really big stack (like calling my pot bets to catch a runner runner straight playing his 72os UTG to beat my flopped set!) And like you, it didn't bother me when he took chips from the other players because I knew I could take them from him later...that is until he busted my all-in AQ sooted with A8os. @$#@$%#%$$

</bad beat whining>

Hand 1: Good fold. You have plenty of chips to work with but not enough to be limping UTG with a small pair.

Hand 2: I push. Most of the time these guys will fold unless they have a very good hand as they're just trying to survive. I push until they give me a reason not to.

Hand 3: I hate it. You have no part of the board, and the chance that he does is too high. He's not the guy you want to tangle with.
