Interesting game?

It's a variation on blind man's bluff that my friends and I came up with. Instead of putting both of your hole cards on your head, you put one up and get to look at the other (which is kept face down).

I was also thinking of playing an Omaha8 version of this, holding two cards up and two down.

Does this game sound like it has any merit? Or just stupid.
