Inspired by the National Championship game, who on 2+2 has actually won a National Championship, of any sort, at some point in their lives? I've had the privelege to be part of 3 (1 individual, 2 team) in my athletic career.

I was part of an international championship team!

I played for a "Minesota all-star" football team in Australia the summer after my senior year. We went down there and beat down teams from states like Colorado, Texas, and Oklahoma on our way to tournament victory.

OK, so its not really a national championship...I still like it.

AAU Triple Jump Champion while in High School, and a member of 2 Track National Championship teams. Then I got injured and can't jump as far anymore, so I coach now /images/graemlins/grin.gif

P.S. This wasn't meant to be a bragging thread, these aren't actually that big of achievements in the grand scheme of things. Just wanted to see what type of cool things other 2+2ers have achieved.

Favorite athlete of all time. Not only was he one of the most technically sound triple jumpers ever, but his character is a true inspiration to everyone. When I want to show one of my athletes that I coach what a good triple jumper looks like I show them Edwards.

My mock trial team took fourth in 1996 or 1997. No national championships for me.

One state championship, however.

I count my 2003 LABR Championship as a world/national rotisserie baseball championship.

I was a member of a wrestling team that won numerous national championships, although I had almost nothing to do with them...

My siblings on the other hand- My sister just won her fourth NC in wrestling this weekend, and my brother has won 3 in football.

My HS Speech Team wins nationals every year. I contributed one year, I was 17th out of 600 but still got us points. I got 2nd in a BPA National Tournament one year too.

How far does one triple jump to be HS national class? 48' or so?

I tried it a few times during track practice and could only manage like 42'. It's a lot harder than I would have thought.

Please, please tell me you have a cameo in the Tom Emanski-Fred McGriff commercial that just won't stop running. That would be awesome.

For some reason I don't feel very proud posting about it in this forum though. I'm not sure if that's a good thing or bad.

I was on the CT math team in 2000 that won nationals (though there were a few teams from Canada, Taiwan, and Japan), but we were in the "B" division, as connecticut was classified as a small state, and didn't go up against NY, Florida, CA, etc...
This is probably much less cool then everyone else's.

I finished 8th in the Ohio H.S. chess championships. It was a VERY weak field.

Second place in Grand National Teams Flight C. This is the lamest accomplishment that will get your name in the Bridge Encyclopedia.

I got 2nd a NSSA (National Scholastic Surfing Association) in the Explorer Bodyboard division.

I was 16, the guy who won was 23.

Rigged!

I've got a bunch of State and High School overall titles.
