This is what happens when you don't get a hand to play in 30 plus hands and you are so excited to play a hand and want to get something out of it that you get too tricky and don't pay attention to the whole board.

Lesson learned, take your time especially if you haven't had any cards to play and don't push your action. Should have bet flop outright instead of check raise I think and definitely should have checked and folded turn. I noticed the flush potential, but did not fully take into account the straight possibility.

These are the kind of dumb mistakes you make when you start trying too hard to win to get something positive going. This is how downswings keep going.

moral: relax and take in the whole board in relation to the action

I don't see how you don't go broke here, BTW, and you should have raised more on the flop.

If MP2 has JT for the nut straight, so be it. I think leading flop is the right play, cuz that board is somewhat scary, and it's a tough spot to be in, but you can't fold a set just because someone raised when a queen hit giving an extra straight.

I fold if I have a very specific read on this guy, but otherwise, letting variance affect your play here is -EV.

So lead the flop, hope to get raised and move in. Bet the turn and go all-in.

And always, "River Quads."

If you check/fold that turn, I hope you enjoy being shown a lot of Ax /images/graemlins/heart.gif's, 98o's and random trash after you fold.

FWIW, in theory it was also very possible he had 76 and had you the whole way. It doesn't really matter. If you flop a set at low buyins you should be all in one way or the other 99% of the time.

He played it correctly. I don't understand the point of this post.

multi-table....the last thing you'll have is a burning desire to get involved in a pot.

well, thanks then. I thought I really blew this hand, I know I still had some outs after I was all in with the board pairing and also my other 5. I just thought that I messed this up. I didn't think twice about folding this and didn't hesitate much in getting all my chips in. Thanks for the reassurance that this was a good play.
