Sit-and-Go pub tourney is down to 4 players.
I have a narrow chip lead, two other players are close to me, and another is way behind.
I'm SB and get dealt 8-10 of spades, the player closest to me, who alternates between being a calling station and making utterly horrendous bluff, is the BB.
The hand is folded to me, I call, and BB raises to 2 x Blind.
I call her, figuring we were shorthanded and the raising standards where I play are very loose and I'm a much better post-flop player and can easily cut my losses if I'm beat.
Flop comes up As-4s-7s, giving me an excellent flush.
Figuring that she had either a suited ace or a medium pocket pair, I check, and she bets 5 x BB.
I see her and raise to 12 x BB, and she calls.
Turn is the 3d, obviously worthless.
Knowing that she has what appears to be a good second place hand, I call her all-in.
She shows pocket aces, giving her a set to my flush.
Elated by what was shaping up to be a commanding chip lead, I wait the river.
The 3c comes up, pairing the board and giving her Aces full.
I'm now way behind, and end up chasing a second place hand to oblivion next hand. :-(
