General question
Hero is dealt a middle pair (say 88) in middle position, a couple of limpers, and Hero limps. Four or 5 in the pot, no raise.
Flop is another middle pair (either 7s or 9s) and a lower card.
Hand is checked to Hero.
What is the right "general" play. (Yes, I know there are a lot of variables, and maybe it can't be generalized).
I've been finding that I've been having success making a healthy bet -- say matching the pot.
My theory is post flop, I probably have the best hand. (A higher pair would likely have raised, and until I see evidence of a set, it's worth a risk on my two pair).
Is this sound?
