someone take care of this (http://groups.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=messageboard.viewThread&entry ID=1778823&groupID=100015246&Mytoken=2005040317240 7)

I'll do my part, but there needs to be a few people in agreement for it to sound authoratative. Problem is, I can't think of a criticism of the book, even from a fish perspective. Raising too much preflop I guess?

A lot of the stuff there is worth reading if you're looking for a good laugh, but remember not to tap the glass.

Posting book recommendations definitely counts as "tapping the glass"

You're going to try to hurt Ed's book sales because of some ridiculous forum rivalry?

Wow.

I recommended Helmuth, Jones, Vorhaus, and Warren.

What's the problem? Seriously, if I did something wrong there, I'd like to know why.

Seriously, let them get a hold of every poker book known to man. It won't change the fact that they'll have no clue in the world what to do with them.

not only that, he is intentionally impeding players progress who are actually putting forth some effort to improving their game.
Garbage.

Honestly, I didn't think of that. I was just thinking about our ability to beat the soft games online and such. I forgot for a moment that this site is about a publishing company trying to sell books. Maybe this is a bad battle to pick.

Party could give every new player a copy of SSH, and I don't think it would change the fishyness of the games a whole lot.

You think giving a handful of random 17-year-olds bad advice is the best way to help your ability to beat the game?

I think it would make them fisiher. People who don't know where the advice in SSHE is rooted are terrible. They misapply concepts, call for "pot odds" call bets on the river when the "pot is big" but negelect the fact that their chances of winning are approx. 0%.

I'm going to point them to this thread. That should convince them that it's a good book.

I don't think that any book is going to make these players less fishy, but if 2+2ers keep posting on there someone's eventually going to figure out that they're being ridiculed on 2+2.

They don't seem interested in reading.. the thread should die soon anyway.

According to the intro to his blog, he's read over 30 poker books.

I rest my case.

i think you can actually make more money from idiots taking in the advice incorrectly and misusing it.
