Last night could have gone better, but I didnt expect to beat RJ with Wells anyway.
I absolutely hate our bullpen, by the way. Besides Foulke I think they all suck.

I would love if a Red Sox thread could exist w/o you trolling it death.

it gets old, fast.

how about this: I agree to not troll Yankees threads, if you agree not to troll Sox threads?

Which still takes an amazing ammount of luck to happen. Its not like you went into the playoffs and won 4-0 every time. I wouldn't be suprised if the red soxs missed the playoffs completely

They may miss the playoffs, but to take anything away from what happened last season is ridiculous. Yeah, luck may have come into play, but that's the case in baseball every year.

The fact is, coming back from 3-0 was unprecedented, and an amazing accomplishment, in Yankee Stadium no less. There's no other way for a serious baseball fan to consider it, regardless of who you root for, and I'm neither a Red Sox or Yankees fan.

Sucks that the other two games in this series are day games. I love opening week, but I hate it just as much.

I don't even know wtf this means. It is a best of 7 series. Every game counts. This is like saying that if a short stack comes back at the final table to win a poker tourney that it doesn't really count. The Red Sox won 4 games, the Yankees won 3. Do games where teams come back to win in the 9th innning also not count? Didn't the Yankees get "lucky" to go up 3-0 in the first place?
Seriously, 99% of all Red Sox and Yankees fans are retarded beyond belief. I'm glad I'm in the 1% of the non-retards. I wish someone else in this group would post in this thread.

i agree 100%. one of the reasons i hated playing live at foxwoods (pre and post WS) would be people commenting on my old red sox hat, which would lead to thier moronic take on how the team should be run.

seriosly, i get a woody when i actually get to talk baseball (or any sport) with somebody who actually has a clue.

if your even semi serios about this, you dont have as good a grip on things as i thought. one could easily say that the sox were 'unlucky' for 86 years. i just think they lost to better teams every time the chance came up.

Well, explaining it kinda ruins it, but here you go.

You said you get a chubby when you talk baseball with intelligent people. I was basically stating there are very few intelligent baseball people around here, therefore you must need some medical assistance. Meh.

Either way, looks like a swing and a miss.

Keep on keepin on dude.

I hate to say it, but I agree with sublime/Paluka and I'm a Yankee fan. Trying to detract from last season is incredibly dumb. Really, come on.

That said, I like our odds this year /images/graemlins/smile.gif

I like our odds this year too, and the Yanks don't suck, the are fcking good and always have been. It's been great baseball year after year as of late, all we can ask for.

thats the thing. you type that the NYY are a great team (either 1 or 1a) yet point out somethign negative and you get "a-rod is the nuts" etc.

not to say red sox fans are any smarter. they are not. i was listening to talk radio this AM and heard a guy call in and say the sox should have gave out the rings last night in order to motivate the team. he was dead serious.

I wanted to reach through the radio and choke that motherfcker. And Dale sounded like an idiot trying to reason with him as anyone that has a stupid idea like that can't be convinced with reason.

go blow your brains out, although it was lucky for the Sox to come back down 3-0, do you ever consider that the yankees got lucky to go up 3-0? I'm not sure why a winning streak of 3 game sis normal and expected, but one of 4 games is the result of absurd luck. The fact of the matter is that any advanced metric points to the Sox being a better team last year and this year than the yankees, alebeit only marginally better. If you think that either the Sox or the yankees are going to miss the playoffs you are profoundly retarded.

it's like when 2 hands are all in before the flop in holdem. 99 vs. AK

flop 254

turn Q

river A

AK wins

Speaking of retarded, one thread for the entire Red Sox season is. I dislike both the Sox and the Yankees but I (and many others) will want to read the thread from time to time. It gets to be a real pain when there's like 400 posts in it. So divide it up. C'mon.
