woke up this morning and my right neck muscle is really stiff. Not see a doctor stiff or anything, but still really stiff. I am going the gym in like 1 hour. Is it ok to work this muscle?

Yes its okay to work that muscle. When my neck gets really stiff I'll usually put my hand around it and shake it, and what is this about you sharing it with the doctor? Its uncalled for.

thanks for the advice. I was agreeing with you, it is not nearly bad enough to warrant seeing a doctor

I played rugby as a prop (first row in the scrum) for four years, and my neck muscle was sore after every game and most practices.

You can stretch it by placing your spread fingers on the back/top, forward/top, and side/top and pulling very gently in the opposite direction until it feels tight, holding for twelve to fifteen seconds.
