I am likely to go to either Crossroads Cafe or The Java House when I get up in the morning. I'm likely to go for one of my three standby weekend breakfasts. Which one should I get?

Looks like you aren't going to get a clear winner in time.

I'm on the West Coast and just going to sleep now. I'll probably be up in about 6.5hrs.

You are mixing up cause and effect or something here.

Hashish is the cause of a greasy breakfast, not for breakfast.

Pancakes are a great breakfast. Get the eggs over easy and put them on top of the pancakes, after adding lots of butter, and soak the entire stack in maple syrup. Guaranteed Good. Get a large glass of fresh squeezed orange juice, if possible. If not, go for a large glass of grapefruit juice.

I use to go to a great specialty pancake house on Sundays. Belgian waffles were a favorite as were a German pancake – some very large pancake that filled the whole plate and even turned up on the outer edge, powered sugar on it etc.

My first major disagreement with Zeno. Bagels pwn. Bagels and lox are great, although I don't get the capers. Not needed. Those pankes with powdered sugar are gay, although I can't say for sure that they are retarded.

There. I used "pwn" "gay" and 'retarded" all in one post.

Capers complete the near-perfection of bagels and lox.

Cooked hash browns with fresh garlic, onion, red pepper, and some prosciutto. Topped with shredded cheese and melted all the cheese in the oven. Then topped with eggs. HDPW made some toast w/ pugliese bread. Pretty good. Perhaps not up to san francisco standards but better than that pancake Zeno described.

I got 'pwned' - Whatever that is supposed to mean. Good job HDPM (and GoT).

That donk El can have any retarted breakfast he wants and it is Very Gay just to ask what he should have for breakfast anyway.

My grandma bought me a waffle maker 2 weeks ago and have used it at least 10 times already. Real waffles are the best.

Just a history note - when bagels first became a hot item, back in the 70's I think, VERY GAY. Not so much now but a bagel with spouts is still considered Gay by old farts like me, even though they taste good.

I voted for the froofy bagel. Pancakes are always too heavy and leave you feeling sluggish in the morning, and Salmon sounded better than bacon this morning.

I voted for the bacon bagel thing on top, but any breakfast sans hashbrowns and eggs over easy is worthless.

Bagels are Ok. Pancakes suck at most restaurants, but some specialty restaurants make great pancakes. For really awesome pancakes have homemade buckwheat pancakes with fresh huckleberries (the dark blue kind) sprinkled liberally throughout the dough and cooked to a perfect golden brown on a hot griddle. With warm maple syrup and lots of melted butter this is a real feast. If you never had these you just don’t know what you are missing.

I went to get some food soon after your message. Bacon egg and cheese bagel edged out pancakes in the voting, so that's what I went with. It was great. The bagels at this place are from H&H. I went with the everything bagel.
