From late position with limpers (me) in front he made it 45 to go preflop and his bet there made me put him on Ace Ace something. Using that read do you like my line? I will some times play hands like this being first to act against a raiser whom I figure for AA assuming I think I can get his whole stack if I hit the flop right...in this case it was pretty hard line to keep up as he just kept calling....

In a hilo game, calling with a hand like 235x against likely aces is usually not a good idea as you are looking for an ace to continue.

Aces your missing a big aspect of High Blind PLO8 I think...granted I would like an ace to flop yes...but my hand is never more then 60 40 dog to win the hand...that said if I invest 35 more when there was 35 in middle already plus his raise I feel confident that if I hit the flop I can usually get his stack. If I miss the flop I simply lay it down as the risk vs reward is no there...top players will "gamble" it up a bit preflop with a hand like this if they think they can get his stack in the middle if they catch the right flop. I play for stacks I dont want to just win a pot I want to bust a guy and I think thats what makes me successful at PLO8 over last few years. If I can get my money in pre at 60 40 or better and play post flop great I can guarantee you its +ev. Again if I miss the flop it cost me 35 with essentially 70 in middle...I was getting 2 to 1 on my call of his raise. If I hit the flop I can take 800 from him? That feels like a hand you have to see the flop with doesnt it? I mean again go back to party plo8 1k players are generally not good (not all but most are not) and will overplay AA in plo8 almost every time. They love getting the money all in with AA no matter what the texture of the board is. My 308 raise would scare the hell out of most pros but on party the players sometimes would think woohoo now I got him...I mean what else could I have there besides a 5 or qs full?

Your opponent played worse than you, congrats.

In your spot, played it fine. I would be real worried to see the guy turn up AA5 though. He just played bad, 8/10 times you'll just get his $100 flop bet and then a fold to your raise.

People dont raise with A25 hands?

AQQ2 or AQQJ?

That big flop bet has to be -ev.

You can be worse than that. There are several other hands with A2x where x duplicates you that are also more than 60% favorites over you.

You will only hit trips 1 in ~15x here, which means your $35 call must win $500 every time it hits to make it profitable. Your opponent only had $777. Most opponents will not donate their stack to you. Even hitting two pair or a straight means there are very likely two low cards on the board to split with him. Even if get an A it still gives him top pair or a set so you'll really need to connect with your other cards to win high. And you're out of position.

So I agree with the other comments in the thread.
