your set in this situation is a mixed blessing (and quite a mindf*ck). I like to check this kind of set on the turn to let the other guy take control of the betting. I don't like putting all my chips in on a 3 overcard flop unless I really know i have the best hand. maybe its -EV in the longrun w hands like this, but crazy stuff comes from these flops.

In short, yes. You're not getting away from hitting a set on the turn here. In this situation, all you want is for opponent to get his chips in the middle with as many hands as possible.

Seems like a very stange way for MP to play any hand you beat to me. If he was smart he wouldve led with this hand on the turn and you couldnt have gotten away. As it is I would call the turn hoping you river quads and then call a river bet, hopefully not allin. Save yourself chips if possible since it seems likely you are beat on the turn.
