After a raise and a reraise I lay down JJ as long as the other players aren't known maniacs. It's too likely you are far behind.

I think folding is fine. You can bleed away 1/3 (or more) of your stack before you find out you're beat. My guess is that you will win this hand less than half the time. Winning the pot is not crucial to your strategy of winning the SNG, but losing it severely impairs your chances.

In a ring game, you might reraise, but in a tournament just bide your time. JMHO

I think my opponents generally suck. I feel they would make plays like this with much less than JJ, including hands JJ has completely dominated. I'd raise all-in.

sounds good, just making sure i wasn't being too weak tight. i actually hit middle set on a quiet flop, button took down the pot on the flop with a 1/3 pot bet

typically i don't need to gamble early on to beat 20s, the minreraise seemed a little fishy, and i still had to worry about utg. the only hands i beat preflop are underpockets (possible for utg but unlikely, and i don't think button would minreraise with underpockets) and overcards. i could hope for overs but my tthought process is why guess/hope and gamble when i can wait for a better spot?

I think this is a reasonable alternative to folding; it's just not to my taste. But calling, IMO, is the worst of both worlds.

I wouldnt take the gamble that early. You are probably a coinflip with a better chance at being dominated by QQ-AA then dominating 77-1010. I am folding
