My question is when in EP what factors do you consider when thinking about checking on the flop when you catch a little or a lot of the flop from early position, assume:
1. rainbow ragged flop
2. 2 flush, 3 flush
3. st8t draw
I hate checking, but feel that I throw in too many continuation and probe bets if I catch some of the flop, because I figure someone is just going to bet and I will have to fold anyway. I have tried checking more bottom and mid pairs due to the fact they are not very strong.
But when the board has a pair and you have a pocket pair is it ever right to check or should you bet enough to try and see if they have a hand and then check the turn and see what they dO?
I find this is one of the more difficult decisions to make. I would really appreciate as others I am sure would, hearing what some of the more successful players have to say on this subject, or if there are any good threads on the subject.
Thanks.
