Trying to add new things to my game. Party $11. Nice when things couldn't work out better. Before I would have raised 3-4X BB and would have folded probably when the flop missed me. But by pushing, I will take the money from the limpers or b)even better, double up with only an A high hand. /images/graemlins/grin.gif

You want a call only from hands you dominate Ax Kx and if you make the 4BB PF raise, those hands will pay you off when you hit anyway. So if you play AK the way you did, you pick up 3BB 90% but force youself into a coinflip 5% and dominate %5. More importantly, you force Ax/Kx into a fold when he should be paying you off. Stop doing that!!!

Someone talk some sense into him and tell me it was a good play. I am proud of myself. /images/graemlins/grin.gif

I think that is a pretty standard play.

Standard? Standard is 4BB. Blowing limpers out requires fewer BB to be standard. With AKs, you're hitting the flop hard enough 50% to push the flop. I think with that stack size, you're missing too many chances to double up.

It's not standard, but it should be.

You end up increasing your stack by 25% 9 out of 10 times??? And 30-35% of the times that your called you double up? So you bust out only 6% of the time?

SWEET!
