How do you play Granny Mae??

Just wondering how many people play Granny Mae the proper way. I never did but then was a bit bored so I just bet and raised at every opportunity - I didnt win after two attempts and now think that although its fun its a bit of a waste. are there any hardcore people who play it hard all the time?
