My question is whether I should push pre-flop, raise half my stack pre-flop and push the flop no matter what, or perhaps limp in pre-flop (although I really hate this idea) and try to hit something.

You have 6x BB. You can't raise half your stack. POOSH.

sell see, the thing is you shouldnt. but in the case that you did, how can you even consider folding once you hit top pair and have half your stack out there? 3uo

call me crazy, but I muck.
The BB has a huge stack (still 2x 2nd place if he loses), and his calling standards are probably wide open. That being said, A7s is probably on average +/- 55/45 ahead to a very loose range (22+, Ax, Kx, Q9+, JTs-87s). Tighten up his range and you're a flip at best. I don't think the time is right with the blinds hitting the two short stacks the next few hands.

My first reaction is to let it go.

Obviously I was going all-in on the flop no matter what. I was hoping he was bad enough to make a bad pre-flop call and then a bad post-flop fold as well (since it should be obvious to anyone with a brain that I'm auto-pushing the flop).

Interestingly, I would definitely push with this hand from the button.

I don't think you're crazy. Folding this is definitely a viable solution.

BB shows 3/images/graemlins/club.gif2/images/graemlins/diamond.gif and I lose.

See, I was hoping he'd fold something like this to my flop push if he didn't have a draw or a pair. So if he folds on a KQJ (all hearts) flop, I profit enormously.
