82 person seater with £10 or £20 buy ins depending on the day of the week. 1 hour re buys and 1 top up. Starting chips 1000, blinds start at 25/50 and go up every 10 minutes.

Its basically a lottery what with the blinds starting high and with no professional dealer you dont see as many hands per blind stage.

Its very hard to bet people out of hands at this stage, almost everyone calls and you ll get a few callers from a raise.

Im basically asking how you would play this game when you are not hitting cards. Simply wait for a hand and push all in (believe me, they ll call).

Ive been placed 2 out of 6 times and can do extremely well providing I hit a few hands although the other 4 times I really havent had any hands whatsoever to work with.

I will constantly see bad players with big stacks from playing rubbish and catching (or not catching and shouting for "chips"), this clearly isnt a profitable play, and not a play I want to make.

When Ive made the money ive never had to rebuy. Ive only played rebuys at this one casino.

Do I simply need to open up my play a bit more and be prepared to all in marginal hands?

Would like some advice here

This has been discussed before. You might try searching the archives. I will discuss my approach. There are other approaches advocated on this forum, including going allin a lot and rebuying if necessary to build a big stack.

I try to see the flop with speculative hands, knowing I will get payed off big if I hit. I try to get all the money in preflop with JJ, AK, or better. If the rebuy structure is such that the blinds get really big towards the end of the rebuy period, I will push with reasonably strong hands, as I would in a freeze out.

I would not gamble with marginal hands. If you don't have anything, fold. If you get thorugh the rebuy period with a small stack and take the add on or "top off", you have a reasonable shot at big money for a small price.

After the rebuy period, there are lots of total fishes with big stacks (I think it is obvious how they acquired them.). They should be very willing to give you those chips. Generally, fairly wild play continues with lots of raises and reraises. The table is usually filled with bullies who know how to make opponents fold with huge overbets. Generally, I play tight during this period and wait for people to try to push me off my big pair, set, straight, etc.

As it gets close to the bubble and most of the maniacs have busted out, the play tightens. At this point I play more aggressively, particularly with a big stack.

If you are going to play this tournament you should rebuy immediately 100% of the time.

Other than that, I would look for tournaments that give you a better structure.
