Bring Home Chips Or Cash?

when you are leaving the casino with money

what do you guys do?

for me there are two factors, it is slightly better to bring home chips since you can just leave with em and come back in and sit down at the table without getting chips

but the other factor is which is easiest to lose(like fall out of your pocket or something)? not sure about this

It depends on what you mean by "leaving." If you're going upstairs to your hotel room then chips make sense, if you're going home then I'd think cash is the better choice.

but if you're going back the next day or soon after, chips make sense... unless you really need the cash.

Do they not have chip runners on the east coast? The only reason i keep chips is when I have too much money to comfortably carry around. When I go to Vegas and take enough for a week of 20-40, I'll usually color up about 3k in large chips.

if you have to color up and then go back and color back down again -- itd be the same amount of steps

or how close you live to the room

id rather have cash in that case -- cash would also be easier to carry but much easier to spend


some would be based on your poker room rules, eg- can you buy chips at the table

i agree to a point, but sometimes large denomination chips can make it easier to carry around a lot of money.
