What should be a standard ratio of how many chips you have verse what they have to call w/ AQ, AJ. I had 3x in one instance w/ AQ & 4x w/ AJ, they turned over AK both times. /images/graemlins/blush.gif

It depends, you need to put them on a range of hands and decide. It depends on a lot of things, like your position, their position, how many chips you have, what level you are in, number of players left. You won't be able to make a list like AQ=3xbb.

I don't understand , can you explain your question a little clearer?

Basically, I've been in 2 recent situations 3 handed with the Chip Lead & have re-raised all in from the short stack.

The blinds were T400
I was the button w/ AJ.
I raised to 1000, SB folded,
shortstack(BB) raises all in his last 1600. So, it was 1000 for me to call at this point after putting in 1000 already

Am I raising too much on my raise from the button w/ AJ? Should I lay it down at this point? Both times in similar situations they have turned over AK.

Push before the flop instead of committing most of your stack with that raise.

This was a 50 or above? Either way I'd still push as they both have something like 3400 total or 1700 each which is 4.25xBB.

... or was this at Pokerstars/somewhere else? If so then I dunno the exact chip count.

Im pretty drunk but (thats standard).... listen dont worry about your stack when your raising, just worry about the shortest stack out of all the people who are involved, if you have 6600 that means your raise will be less the 10 BB for your opponents which means that any raise by you pot commits yourslef, so you might as well push to begin with, definelty dont lay down to a reraise. Running into AK with AQ or AJ ITM sucks but is unavoidable, dont sweat it.
