Anyone else think that PP 1$-2$ is a lot tighter than .5-1$

That would make sense. Are you surprised?

I was playing in a 1/2 game with you last night (I'm assuming your SN is mikescags), and it seemed very fishy to me. But yes, it logically follows that 1/2 will be tighter than .5/1.

I know logically that it should be tighter im just wondering if they are all this tight. All of the games I've seen so far have had about 4 to the flop. That seems crazy low to me.

4 to a flop seems about right. You are in a really good 1/2 game if its much higher.

Whats your SN? Also 4 is about what I've encountered as well. I dont know if you've ever played at Pacific before but most of there 1$-2$ tables have about 6 people preflop

Nope, never played pacific... I'm the LAG on your right.

that's the book on 1/2. theory goes that the crummy players with money to burn play higher stakes, while 1/2 is largely made up of players who can at least beat .5/1

mscags

Really? Are you saying the higher you go the players aren't very good? That doesn't sound right to me

itsmesteve
03-31-2005, 11:22 PM
i'm definitely not saying that, but i'm saying at slightly higher levels i have been led to believe that, in addition to some no doubt very good players, there are also fishies swimming around w/ money they're apparently not very attached to. perhaps someone who has played higher can comment

mscags
03-31-2005, 11:41 PM
That's cool, so you think at something like 2-4 or 3-6 you might find them, but probably not at something like 10-20

itsmesteve
03-31-2005, 11:49 PM
Yeah, that's the impression I've always had, though right now i can't think of where/what post it came from. There's plenty of players who frequent this forum who play at higher levels, perhaps they'll comment based on actual experience and not heresay. I'm also not saying that 2/4 or 3/6 will be easier or softer. In reality, the dynamics of the games probably has changed alot in the last 6mos -1year, so who knows?

I can usually find 3 33/5 type tables with a little work in the evenings. But I'm a tight ass regarding table selection.

This is prob a stupid question but what is 33/5?

Well then you are losing out on a LOT of profitable situations IMO. GT+ is GameTime+ which is an addon to PT. For party skins, and some other sites, it will display the stats of all your opponents based on the hands you've played with them right under their name on the table. As Party saves HH's to your hard drive, it can update in close to real time. EXTREMELY useful especially when multi-tabling. It's free to download, though I forget where from, search for it, or maybe someone else will post a link.

Awesome I'll have to search for that. Thanks
