......that miraculously turned into a winner?

I think we have been so engrossed with all the strategical discussions in this forum that I decided to lighten it up a bit. Let me first share mine:

Party Poker last night. I was hit with a frozen deck for the first 3 orbits that was so cold I was not able to play a hand. Even my blinds were raised all 3 times. With blinds still at 15/30, I finally got a free play on the 4th orbit with Ts3d after 3 limpers including SB. The flop was 5c 8h Tc. SB checked. Top pair, no kicker? Oh well, gotta protect it and typed 80. To my horror after clicking the mouse, I saw 800 and I had only 920 to start! First limper folded, second thought for a few seconds and finally mucked. I was already thinking I was getting away with it when SB called all-in.
Shiiiit! I'm toast! Turn Ad. River Th. SB had QcAc. MHIG. SB typed XXXXX before leaving the table. The better news is I made it ITM albeit nothing to brag about.

Care to share yours?

Once my roommate was distracting me and I called a 3x BB raise with 35o. Someone re-raised, and my roommate was still distracting me, and I called again! For half of my chips! The flop? A24.

Near the ITM bubble last week, I made a mistake like this.

Raised with 48o in the CO, blinds 400/800, and I had 25-30K or so. Very comfortable stack, looking good to go deep.

Well, 2400 became 24000, and a short stack in the SB (~8500) called in a shot with AdKd.

Board XX8-8-K. I ended up finishing 5th.

Didn't mind the call from the little stack so much, but I was terrified when I saw the bet get thrown out there because the table bully was in the BB with 45K or so.

Table had a good laugh about it, though.

Doing a 4x multi table session (montior can not do it with them side by side, have to overlap them) and was clicking to mini raise with AA against a UTG limper from the botton, but I got distracted by something falling off the desk and cliked as I was turning my head and clicked "raise" (putting me AI) to a 3-way AI on a MTT I was playing with K2s that got focus! Oh great, better get back to the AA hand before I timeout... Get back to mini-raise and get the AI I was looking form the UTG and took down a nice pot against his QQ. I forgot about the MTT session as other hands were coming up and figered I was dead anyway, when it poped to the front and it is my action?!?! I fold and look at the hand history in the chat window and I hit quad 2's LOL, went on to take 2nd after that massive suck out at just the right time.

In an a foxwoods Act I tournament there are 5 of us left (top 3 advance to Act II, these are super satellites to the NEPC). I am shortstacked, but have the BB covered.

I open all-in with my 2 black eights. Button calls, BB calls all-in. We all flip up.

Button shows AJ (red), BB shows 99 (i don't remember the color) and I have 8s8c yuck I am dominated.

Jack on the flop, everyone starts to stand up as the other two players figure they are moving on to the ACT II, turn blank, river A. they all start cheering each other yada yada. I am staring at the board, looking at 4 spades out there. I am flabergasted, Couldn't get the word flush out!. I start saying Spades! Spades!. Ponting at my cards and the board. Finally getting their attention I look back down to see the dealer shoving my cards into the muck. GRRR

Floor called, arguments ensue, but the bottom line is my winning hand was mucked and I was out....

Mine was sheer luck. I had pocket JJ's vs pocket AA's. Flop came AJ3. We got all our chips in on the flop and the guy was soo excited that he had the nuts he fumbled his cards turning them up and one hit the floor /images/graemlins/shocked.gif I just stood there and started laughing. I didn't mean to be an ass it was just a nervous/tension relieving response /images/graemlins/smile.gif The guy's hand was ruled dead and he starts screaming at me, not the floor, that I owe him ANY money I make in the tournament. Funny stuff /images/graemlins/smile.gif

Wasn't my mistake, but a good lesson on protecting your hand:

This was midway through a $50 rebuy tournament at Ft. McDowell Casino in Arizona. I was on the button (in the #8 seat) with A9d when everyone folded to me I raised 4x the BB. The SB folded, the BB (sitting in the #10 seat) declared "All in". I paused and thought about it for a long time.... then stated, "Call!' and turned over my hand. The BB looked down to show his cards, and they were gone. The dealer had inadvertently mucked them! A floor person was called and it was ruled that his hand was dead and he was eliminated from the tournament. Uhg! Not sure about this decision.

Side note: He had KQ of spades.

Mid-stages of a tourney, I was multi-tabling and the window popped up when I was clicking call. Well, I had just called an 8XBB all-in in middle position with 84o. Next guy raises all-in for about 4 more big blinds. Another guy with a big-stack calls (why couldn't he have raised so I could have folded!!), and I had to call with the pot odds and a deep enough stack.

Flop had a 5 and a 6, check,check, turn a 7, and I beat their AK and JJ.

PLaying on pokerstars 2/4NL, i had 72o (no joke) in the big blind, thought i pressed auto fold after a big bet from ep and then an all-in, because i had to go to the washroom.....

when i came back i had triple the chips, i guess i called everything, so i looked at the history on my chatbox (passing all the angry comments), and i hit a 2 on the flop and a 7 on the turn to beat QQ and ak
it was so funny, i couldnt believe that had happend
i think my image went to very loose after that

I'm a known bluffer. My friends know that a wired pair of ducks will often be good against me. I'm sitting on a healthy stack with 8To. I raise it up. Get 3 callers - ok. Flop comes AJ3comes AJ3. I bet. 1 caller. Turn is a nine. I double my flop bet. Call. River is a 4. I'm all in. Call. I give a look that tells the guy his hand is good and he turns over pocket sevens. I shake my head and say "[censored], I got nne.." turn over my hand, it has magically transformed into 9To, "..ne-nines. But I guess it's good." /images/graemlins/grin.gif

Next time let me tell you about the Quad nines that turned into a pair of eights.
