You're only ahead to 99 and TT and maybe 88 if I didn't have any stats on you and got out line and not to mention the pot is smallish.

Good fold (I did have what I claimed to have)

Say you called the flop and it went check check on turn, would you lead out on the river and fold to a raise against me, check-call or check-fold?

If this guy isn't exceptionally creative with his raises, you're probably behind. If you bet out and he has something like KK, he may decide to just call you down, forcing you to keep putting in bets out of position or to check/fold on a later street. I don't think letting this one go is wrong.
