FWIW, I would have played it precisely the same (assuming no reads on the player aka they are a Party random aka they are a donk).

I admit that after the turn and river you aren't too happy, but this is definitely a river to check/call. You may induce JJ-77 or cheese (67 soooooted, etc.) to bet, so essentially you are making the same amount of money when you are ahead lose the least when you are behind. (Actually you lose the same if you can fold to a river raise, but against an unknown donk, I am wary of this line).
