Why don't you post some of these where they fail, or at least post them without showing that the villain folded.

You should get more unbiased responses.

All's well that ends well, I guess, but I can't see making this without either ridiculously good instincts (which I certainly don't have) or some kind of read (which I'm assuming you don't have). I guess I'm weak but I just hate making plays like this early on, although it's tempting. Generally when I try, though, I get myself in trouble more often than not. But I'm definitely interested in hearing what more experienced players have to say about it.

BB certainly blew this one, though, he couldn't get too much more obvious.

Who am I to quarrel with success? I say it's another good read.

How do you get such a great read on the very first hand? Wow, am I impressed.

Damn, suddenly Scuba is a Gus Hansen clone badass.

(Although I guess Gus isn't known for bluffing at the end of hands, more for just playing a lot of them early)

Hero has a flush draw and two backdoor straight draws on the flop. I think 15 chips is reasonable. Turning the pair to go with your flush draw and 50 chips is a debateable turn call.

The problem with this thread is that it isn't about betting impetus, but a bluff on the river. Confusing title from a confused poster, that's all. Nice bluff, scuba!

I hate it b/c its not consistent with the way you'd play a set or two pair, but here's a more interesting issue:

Does this matter?
If I'm Villain in this hand, I look at your raise and say, "F*ck why do these fish slowplay their monsters with flush draws on the board !@$!#!@#!

And I fold.

If I know you're not a fish I auto call because your play reeks of a busted FD. But I generally don't know that, so I'd be forced to fold my Q.

Thoughts?

Yeah, it seems Scuba is a little overly obsessed with this new term. It's basically just "Should I bluff this river, or play the hand differently on any other street?"
