Something that looks decent and is very comfortable. What doy uo have and what do you suggest?

Thanks!

Price range can be from hundreds to $1500 if it is a good chair.

We got new Herman Miller Aerons at my office a few weeks ago. So far no complaints...

leap from steelcase. its got tons of adjustments. def a must for those that have chronic back pains. (800)

aeron. most people like it. its probably the best selling "erogomic task" chair. cant adjust seat depth. (650)

freedom from humanscael. ask terry from this board (1200)

nothing wrong with the aeron if you get the right size, but the leap is worlds above it in comfort and functionality.

fwiw, I don't like the humanscale, but some do.

I know less than nothing about office chairs. I have actually been torturing my butt and back on a kitchen chair the last few years. Are there any decent Aeron clones around if you don't like the price of the real thing?

I've been sitting on an Aeron at work for the past 3 years. They guy next to me has the "other" chair. It looks a lot like the Leap chair. Lots of adjustments but no one is particularly impressed with either chair in my office. No complaints but I like my $100 leather desk chair at home just fine too. I think I got it at Ikea or OfficeMax. Our assumption is that it's cheaper for them to buy us good chairs than to payout an ergonomic related injury lawsuit. Bottom line to me: Aeron is a good chair but nothing magical and for that kind of (my own) money, I want magical.

I have a Herman Miller but only because my mom works for them. I would suggest saving 500 bucks and just head down to staples to buy a cheap one...

i think you're approaching it the wrong way. if a chair feels MAGICAL the instant you sit in it, it's probably terrible for your posture and will cause pain/injury if you sit in it for extended periods of time. that's where aerons, etc shine.
