Hey guys, I am some what new to the online poker tournies, anyways I DL'ed SNG Tracker and took the stats on the games I have played so far - pretty much all 20+2's from PP, anyways just wondering what I should look for or need to work on. Thanks.

ROI: 52
ITM: 45
Tournies: 38
Buyins: 755
Vig: 76
Total Entries: 831
Prizes: 1260
Profit: 429
$/Tourny: 11.29
itm from the bubble: 96 - what does this mean anyways?
bubble % +/-: 29

we think the same thing we think about every other yokel who posts their winning stats after 50 games. "man i wish that this forum wasn't cluttered up with this crap." and then we post something "nicer" like:

in about 500 games, you'll know how you're doing. from what you've given us, we can't tell you anything at all about your game at all.

oh, and welcome to the forums.

Very nice. That is an awesome ROI over 800 SnG's. I just wish I could get my 10+1 ROI in the positive range.

i was about to go edit my post to say "oops, i didn't notice he had 800 tournaments" but then i realized i was right and you were wrong, and he really has 38 tournaments.

Except it's not over 800 STTs.

If your ITM from bubble was 96% your bubble % +/- would be 21%. A bubble +/- of 29 means you make it into the money 104% of the time that you are down to 4 /images/graemlins/grin.gif

I'd say make it 1000 before even looking at your ROI, provided you haven't busted of course.

Good start by the way. Post some hands. Good luck.

Next time I should put $ signs in. And yes its a whopping 38 SnG's.

(In other words, I think you made these up)

...or perhaps it's a quirk in the SnG Tracker? I don't know about Hood's program, but I know the AM spreadsheet and Poker Tracker both have a few weird little bobbles in them that become insignificant over sample sizes larger than, say, 38 tournaments.

I def. didnt make them up, but I did make a mistake,

bubble % +/- is 21%.

I can send you a screenshot if you really don't believe me.

Nope, I believe you. Nice run

In your professional opinions, are these % more or less luck or could I continue at this rate, I consider myself a decent player but I know there is a lot of luck involved in it.

Thanks again

I'll take a stab at this one...Your numbers are great, but are more than likely no where near sustainable. You've probably just had a really good run of cards. But dont let it discourage you... A great ROI for the 20's long term has to be between 30-40%...I'm a part time player and thought i was the [censored] after my first 100 10+1's because my ROI was 56%...everyone here put me in my place and now i realize why... after 200 games my ROI is down to 40%...bottom line is ROI is really useless knowledge until you have logged about 1000 sit n gos at one buy in.

PEACE~

f%&#. Play the next 37 or whatever SnG's with your lucky red hat on and see how different the results are. Then give serious objective thought to the idea that wearing the hat somehow influenced the results.

"I'll get the dictionary. You'll see when you get there. The word is 'stochastic'."

I kinda figured it was luck, my goal is to play 50 Sng's over the next week, assuming my bankroll can handle it. Ill post the results. Thanks again.

BTW I was just playin at PP and the software crashed just as I was about to get knocked out in 5th and it credited me 1/5th the chips. I rather be lucky than good i suppose.

I just decided to start making a run at SNGs just to see where I stand, and have been trying to figure out how many I could do in a day. Are you saying that theres people playing 500 sngs a week? If so my calculations are correct 8)

I meant to play at least 500 tournaments before you even think about posting results and asking about signifigance.

500 in a week seems like a raptor sort of thing. If anyone's played that many in a week, it's him.

Anyone ever try this 4-tabling? Seems like one hell of a task but fun at the same time.

You do this challenge again and I'll seriously try and play as many as I can like you do. 4-tabling though and in sets. /images/graemlins/wink.gif My max will probably be like 40-50 per day at best so nothing crazy like 850 in a week is possible. Post a thread and start it at midnight!

I totally forgot about the SNG challenge. (http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/showthreaded.php?Cat=&Number=1954049&page=&view=&s b=5&o=&vc=1) Check this out to see how long it took people to play that many. Raptor 8-tables 24/7 and doesn't seem to require sleep. /images/graemlins/cool.gif

Well I played 50 on monday, and even went to class and went out to lunch, so I think 500 in a week is definately doable now. Thanks!

I've got a challenge for me: Play poker from 9-5 every weekday. 1 hr break. I've never had a 'real' job (just gambling, some nightclub work that lasted 2 months, and another job that wasn't really a job), so this is a real challenge. 9-5 is also great since it catches the poker peak hours (I'm on other side of world).
