I've decided that Clint Eastwood is both my favorite actor and director ever. He's made so many great movies. What are your favorites?

Everyone knows "The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly", "Dirty Harry", "Unforgiven", and " Million Dollar Baby" are great. What about the others? Rank as many as you've seen.

as a director:

1. a perfect world (vastly under-rated)
2. unforgiven

i thought million dollar baby was a grotesque melodrama which belonged on daytime TV.

Mystic River would come in somewhere in the top ten of this list, but I focused on movies where Clint had an acting role.

You forgot Every Which Way But Loose. Great flick that showcases Clint's lighter side.

Josey Wales is one of Clint's few big movies that I haven't seen yet. I'm actually planning to watch it tonight.

He's made an awful lot of terrible movies. For me, the only great movie he's directed was Unforgiven. Million $ Baby and Mystic River were both very good.

The Good, The Bad, and the Ugly is one of my all-time favorite movies, but credit for that goes to Sergio Leone and Eli Wallach. Eastwood was just kinda there.

I think he's gotten better as an actor over the years, with Million $ Baby his finest performance and a probable Oscar winner if not for Jamie Foxx's Ray.

Paint Your Wagon. Now, that was something: Clint Eastwood and Lee Marvin singing. Talk about your bad ideas . . .

Andy,

What do you think about A Fistful Of Dollars and For A Few Dollars More?

I'm interested in why some people rank Josey Wales so highly. I've seen it a few times and I actually just went out and rented it to watch again. I like it a lot but thought Unforgiven was better.

Also rented High Plains Drifter since somebody said it was the best Eastwood movie.

I liked High Plains Drifter a lot, but I don't think it as as good as any of the three "Man With No Name" movies, or Unforgiven.

Back cover says High Plains Drifter is one of the "Man With no Name" movies. If it's better than TGTB&TU or Unforgiven I'll be really surprised.

They lied. I think it was just a marketing ploy.

It's definitely not the same character.

Like 'em. But TG,TB,&TU is my favorite of the spaghettis he did for Leone.
