So I'm dealt 4c6c and I play it to a raise, hoping to bluff the crap out of the hand later.

Flop is 4/2/2 ... Pocket Aces bet. I call.

Turn is a 10. Pocket aces bets $25, I raise to $50. Pocket aces thinks, calls.

River is a K. Pocket aces checks. I go all-in for $40, stone-cold bluff. He types in S H * T...but calls.

Pot wound up being $200.

I think he was really close to laying them down. If my raise on the turn had been all-in, would that have been a more effective bluff?

Naw, he's got you on a 2 and he plays anyway. Oops.

I make moves but this line of thought is retarded.

You onnly chance was on the turn
Once he calls the 25 dollar raise on the turn you dont have enough left to move him off of the hand

Bluffs should never be premeditated. You bluff when the right situation presents itself. This was not one of those situations, unless you had a great read on your opponent, which clearly you did not.

I think he calls you even if you push the turn and the river is an auto call giving the odds he is getting.

The most annoying two words in poker forums: It depends.

But seriously, it depends. How much was the pf raise? How much was his bet on the flop? How long have both of you been at the table? What have you seen him do? What has he seen you do? What have you seen him see you do?

The preflop thinking is just crazy..and if I was going to bluff it would be all in on the turn.

The river bet was freaking retarded...40 into a 100+ pot..please!
