Betting the Pot

I need to know, how much a pot bet, would be because when i bet the pot, i'm still not betting enough somehow.. Hers what i do..

Suppose NO blinds/antes are in this game:

The pot is: 0, until this round...


Player1) Bets 5 bucks
Player2) Calls 5 bucks

IM player 3, to bet the pot here, would it be, 10 bucks or 15 bucks?

I know this question sounds retarded but i need to understand this so i can play in a home game later...

The reason im confused is because online, in similiar situations, i hit the pot button and it bets 15 instead of what the pot actually is (10 bucks)...

It's $15. $5 to call + $10 in the pot = $15.

Actually it would be $20 total.

$10 in the pot and it's $5 for player #3 to call.

He wants to bet the pot...so...

he calls the $5 (which now makes the pot $15) and he can raise $15 (which is what's in the pot now)...for $ a total of $20.
