Hmm... Interesting distribution!
Any statistics out there can test if this observation came from Uniform Destribution?
I can, but I don't want to /images/graemlins/smile.gif

Interesting poll and results. I suggest cross posting it to Psychology forum.

As of n=42, it was not statistically distinguishable from uniform. It would be tough to get a result so early, though.

What test did you use to determine that it was not distinguishable from uniform?

Chi square. Search the net for that or "goodness of fit test." It should be in most stats books.

I think if you did this for a larger sample you Would discover that some numbers are more popular than others. Thus the basis of the Ziemba System for Lotteries.

Dang, way to fit in with the crowd...yeah, no way this one is random, there's psychology involved here. When I picked my number, picking that number somehow felt better than picking the others. And there was another number that I first considered picking, but then I thought to myself, "no, don't pick that one."
