this is what i am looking for. data month by month (or maybe 3month intervals) showing what direction the 5/106m and 10/20 6m games have gone in over the last year or two (as long as possible actually) basically all i am looking for is VPIP.
anyone who helps, i really appreciate it /images/graemlins/smile.gif

you want to probably et someone who datamines, i just moved into the 10-20 short bus today. I'll pull up my 5-10 numbers for you though.

I realize that you're looking for change over time data, but I figure I might as well throw out my numbers.
150k hands, from around december of 2004, average vpip 39.49, pfr 13.89.

Ooh, this looks interesting, I will put my #s in and give it a bump.
I have ulterior motives, too... I am curious to hear how wide of a range there is in the VPIP/PFR numbers posted. Sort of a rudimentary way of looking at the effects of table selection. For example, if I post 40/12 average preflop numbers, and someone else has 45/9 as their average at the same game, then perhaps I could afford to put more effort into finding good tables.
Also: don't forget to remove yourself from your data set! Sublime (and I) want to know how everyone else plays, not how you play.
Anyway, my #s at 5/10 over the last 6 months. I am too lazy to edit for players/hand- 5.35-5.39 from Oct-Feb, 5.31 this month.
Oct: 41.2/10.6 (23k hands)
Nov: 40.9/10.8 (22k hands)
Dec: 40.8/11.7 (9k hands)
Jan: 40.5/11.5 (27k hands)
Feb: 40.2/11.9 (25k hands)
March: 40.9/12.3 (28k hands)
Enjoy!

I've never data mined in my life, do you still want my numbers the past 6-12 months to see a slight longer term trend (with the table stats being bumped down a bit due to them all including my :cough: tight :cough: VPIP)?

You've only been able to datamine for the last 5 months or so. I'm particularly interested in the long term data.

cool. any and all info is appreciated.
scheids, you can remove yourself from the averages by just omitting your screen name on the preferances tab of poker tracker. i assume you are talking about the 10/20 game which interests me probably more than the 5/10.
PM me with info if you dotn want to post.

Alright here's the past 12 months. I am neglecting to include numbers from this year since there are probably data miners who can give you some more thorough #'s, and the past two months not too much of my playing has been on Party.
March 2004:
17,866 hands; 38.42vpip, 14.09pfr
April 2004:
22,431 hands; 37.42vpip; 14.47pfr
May 2004:
61,532 hands; 38.96vpip; 13.37pfr
June 2004:
57,787 hands; 38.1vpip; 13.24pfr
July 2004:
38,055 hands; 38.54vpip; 12.93pfr
August 2004:
27,819 hands; 37.88vpip; 12.66pfr
Sept 2004:
17,961 hands; 38.54vpip; 12.9pfr
Oct 2004:
28,313 hands; 37.58vpip; 12.88pfr
Nov 2004:
18,767 hands; 37.5vpip; 12.67pfr
Dec 2004:
14,574 hands; 38.85vpip; 13.58pfr
There ya go, I don't know if these numbers show much other than people don't seem to have changed their preflop play that much even in the past year, although these stats support the general consensus among 10/20 6m vets that the game is more passive in recent months than it used to be.

This is really incredible data to have. Thanks a ton Schnieds. The conclusion I'm drawing from this is that the games haven't changed significantly over the past year. This means advice on old hands, reads, global strategies, and everything is still accurate.
In particular everyone says the 5/10 PP game is pretty loose passive. I find it incedibly agressive. Check raises seem to happen with a huge frequency. This data support the idea that the games haven't changed significantly so I can assume that it's just my adjustment that makes it seem ultra agressive.
When I played 2/4 3/6, there was a post by Astroglide with 2/3BB++ over 50K hands multitabling with a VP$IP of ~23. I always justified my VP$IP of 21-22 with Astroglides stats. As I became more proficient, I came to believe that the 3.6 games on party are likely not as loose passive as they were when Astro crushed them.
Thanks for the info.
Krishan

I was thinking of going to look again to see what the average pot sizes were. I have a feeling they were a little higher further back.

ahhh so the lower VPIP would be due to more lags and less loos passives. you smaaaaaaat.
