do people believe it is better to call with marginal hands so to team up against a small stack (i.e. check thru) or is better to fold them so that if the small stack wins he only double ups not triple ups.

I think in steps this is more important as survival is key not how big ur stack is

any thoughts???

More information needs to be given, the stack size you have relative to therest of the field and your position in the hadn are important factors.

Your actual hand is important too.

ok yeah when writing that i thought it was a tad vague.

Ok there was no specific hand history just something i was thinking about.

situation is near or on the bubble (1 or 2 places away from qualification to next level) small stack goes all-in, someone with exactly the same stack as you calls, your action???

Say small stack has 400 blinds are 100/200 you and the caller have 1500

now folding gives small stack a total of 900 if he wins but calling gives him a stack of 1300 and lets him back in it

hope thats ok im kinda making up this scenario on the spot

what im trying to say is that is it worthwhile calling with rubbish hands to try and eliminate the small stack and go thru whilst taking the risk of putting him back in the running???
