SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- Utah center Andrew Bogut will enter the NBA draft, forgoing his final two years of eligibility to possibly become the No. 1 choice.

``I have no regrets and full-speed ahead,'' the 7-footer from Australia said at a news conference Monday.

This was widely expected, but still worthy of a mention.

Welcome to a long career on the bench. Some dumbass team will draft him high, pay him a ton of money, and then spend the next 5 years trying to unload his salary.

Not sure why you guys think he will be a bust. He is an amazing talent, does it all.

He will either be one extreme or the other. Either Dirk or Darko. I think the chances are MUCh better of becoming the next Darko.

no he doesn't, he can't score/operate well in traffic and had a decided size advantage in MWC games. Did you watch the kentucky game? He is nowhere near a finished or polished player and will get eaten alive in the NBA v quality big men. He would be well served to spend at least another year in college, his range and post moves are very limited.

Truer words have never been spoken, and not just relating to Mr. Bogut.

Bogut is going to be a very good NBA player. He needs to bulk up a bit, but what 20 year old doesn't?

His post moves are very good, he put up huge numbers against legitimate 7 footers all year, including 20 and 10 against Kentucky. He played against NBA quality opposition in the Olympics and played very well, including playing Tim Duncan to a standstill. I don't know how people can say this guy can't play. He actually has a post-up game and can pass. He gets pushed around? So does Pau Gasol on his way to average 18 and 8, and Bogut is a much better rebounder than Gasol.

There's a reason he's going to be one of the top 3 picks, and not the 14th pick. Bogut can ball.

of course we will be a decnt nbaer. but if he stays in school and learns some post moves and develops some range, as well as learns how to keep the ball high and generally handle himself in traffic, he could be a great nbaer. The point is a talent like his shouldn't settle for gasol game, assuming he can develop the scoring ability that gasol has shown. As a likely Knick Bogut will play without an experienced big man to learn from or to take the pressure off him, plus NY presents inumerabel of court distractions and psychological pressures as well.

apparently you didn't watch the kentucky game, bogut played horrible and his glaring inability to keep the ball high, deal with traffic, and score aganst a defender(s) of comporable size are indicative of the type of problems he will have in the nba.

he averaged 14.8 points and 8.8 rebounds in five olympic games, and his line in the usa game was only:

No. N A M E FG FGA FG FGA FT FTA OF DE TOT PF TP A TO BLK S MIN
6 Andrew Bogut * 4 7 1 2 2 3 1 7 8 3 11 1 1 1 0 31
