I've sat with BB for several hours and he's tight passive.

Everybody folds to me, I raise AQo, everybody folds except BB who 3-bets, I call. 2 to the Flop for 6.5 SBs.

Flop is A K 2 rainbow. I bet, he raises, I 3-bet, he caps, I fold.

What do you think?

I get (1) to showdown for 1 BB more, (2) don't get bluffed off the best hand ever and (3) give myself a chance to suck out some small percent of the time.

why 3-bet the flop?? i'd call down after the getting raised on the flop.

He's tight passive so I put him on AA, KK, and AK. When I folded he flashed one ace and said to UTG, "I was hoping he had a set of kings."

I guess you're the total opposite of "weak tight". He flashed an ace when I folded so I lost .5 BB versus the 2.5 BB if I called down.

You obviously feel (based on your responses so far) that you made the right play but I think calling down is much better here as has been suggested already.

So by raising you fold hands like JJ and get 3-bet by hands like AK/AA. Sounds like a bad plan to me.

Actually, now I think you guys are right. I need to reevaluate my aggressive "protect your hand" mentality in heads-up battles like this.

I don't think about hands in this manner. Good points.
