I'm trying to play a lot of .05/.10 limit Hold'em on PStars to get a lot of hands in. What should I buy in for? I usually just buy in for the table minimum, 50 cents, and 95% of the time win the first hand I enter. How much $ should I set aside for this? Like $10? ANy help would be appreciated.

The reason I am playing at these low levels is to slowly build a bankroll then move up a level, etc. I consider myself an above average player and I'm basically trying to clean out the morons and maniacs at the lower tables. Is this a good strategy?

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks.

50 cents is only 5 big bets, which is not even close to enough. I always sit down with 25 times the big bet, which in your case would be $2.50. That's a reasonable buyin.

Well first off you are going to want at least 12x the BB. That is the max amount that you can bet on any given hand and you never want to find yourself all-in with a monster hand. When I play .05/.10 I usually bring $5 to each table but I don't think it matters too much as long as you make sure you have at least $1.20 at all times.

As far as strategy of starting at the lower limits, I can't argue with that as it's what I'm doing as well. Definitely a good way to gain experience while minimizing your risk.

and a reasonable bankroll would be ~25-30

I'll probably see you there. Good luck. I tend to sit down with $3-$4.
