The Oddest thing just occured

Here I was sitting at my desk as a man walked by with a ladder. I gazed upward where he was admiring his recent handiwork and saw a sign labeled NO EXIT. Now this might not normally be considered an odd occurance except that a few minutes prior the sigh had read EXIT. I was just wondering if this should be construed as:

A. As a random act of violence
B. An act of a raving lunatic
C. A plot to confuse the workers
D. A sign that the Ramashive virus has infected our workplace
E. Other

To confuse matters more the door has no lock on the inward side and leads directly outside to the parking area. Any other possibilities to help solve this mystery would be greatly appreciated.

true story.

motorola plant had some cones demarking an area off to one side of an exit. some employees cut through the area to get to their cars. (like a 10x20 yard area marked off or something)

a couple days later the cones were gone.

a couple weeks later the employees learned the cones (you know those orange cones you can drive over, plastic) marked off an area that you shouldnt walk through because of high energy microwave emissions from some portable device.
